I, Marianne Simon , do hereby certify that all facts, figures, and representations made in this application are true, correct, and consistent with the statement of assurances for these waivers. Furthermore, all applicable statutes, regulations, and procedures; administrative and programmatic requirements; and procedures for fiscal control and maintenance of records will be implemented to ensure proper accountability for the expenditure of funds on this project. All records necessary to substantiate these requirements will be available for review by appropriate state and federal staff.   • Involve parents, in an organized, ongoing, and timely way, in the planning, review, and improvement of programs under this part, including the planning, review, and improvement of the school parental involvement policy and the joint development of the schoolwide program plan under section 1114(b)(2) [Section 1118(c)(3)];
  • Use the findings of the parental involvement policy review to design strategies for more effective parental involvement, and to revise, if necessary, the school’s parental involvement policy [Section 1118(a)(E)];
  • If the plan for Title I, Part A, developed under Section 1112, is not satisfactory to the parents of participating children, the school will submit parent comments with the plan when the school submits the plan to the local educational agency [Section 1118(b)(4)];
  • Provide to each parent an individual student report about the performance of their child on the state assessment in at least mathematics, language arts, and reading [Section 1111(h)(6)(B)(i)];
  • Provide each parent timely notice when their child has been assigned or has been taught for four (4) or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not highly qualified within the meaning of the term in 34 CFR Section 200.56 [Section 1111(h)(6)(B)(ii)]; and
  • Provide each parent timely notice information regarding their right to request information on the professional qualifications of the student's classroom teachers and paraprofessionals [Section (h)(6)(A)].

Involvement of Parents

Response: Parents were invited to attend our annual Open House meeting. During this time, parental involvement through the school's PTA and SAC were discussed. Parents were invited to attend our monthly SAC meetings and school events hosted throughout the year. Information regarding these events will be distributed via e-blast, school newsletters, flyers, webpage, school messenger, and the school's marquee. Parental input is documented through minutes and sign in sheets. All information is shared through either our school newsletter or SAC minutes. Parents are required to complete an evaluation rubric to gauge the overall effectiveness of the plan. Necessary changes will be will be tweaked, amended and/or changed if warranted.



The annual Title I meeting was held on September 10, 2014, at which time the Title I program and parent compacts were discussed. Parents were encouraged and invited to provide input. The Title I plan will be viewable via the school's website. Copies of the plan will also be made available at the school's front desk in the main office. Teachers will also discuss the compact with parents during conferences.

Flexible Parent Meetings

Response: Parent events will be scheduled before, during and after the school day to accommodate all of our parents while maximizing our school's overall efforts. Transportation and child care will be provided for most events, if needed. Information will be shared through flyers, school messenger, marquee, and the school's newsletter. We provide opportunities for parents to meet with teachers concerning their child's academic and/or behavior progress throughout the school year, at the parent's request. Teachers are available for conferences from 7:45AM-8:30AM and 4:10PM-5:00PM. If at all possible, some teachers meet with parents during the school day at their resource time, if necessary.

Response: The Parent Resource kiosk is located in the media center, we also provide parent resources in our front office area and parents are encouraged to use our resources as needed. Mrs. Brown, Assistant Principal, is responsible for giving the parents resources and ensuring that they sign out materials to utilize in the home environment. Mrs. Srozinski is our school's Media Specialist, and she helps the parents when there is a need for computer usage in the library and/or lab. Throughout the year, various parental involvement items are mentioned in the school newsletter to support parental participation in their child's education.

In addition, our parents have the opportunity to check out various resources that can be utilized at home throughout the year. They are also encouraged to try various reading strategies for reading improvement.

Response: Information such as behavior and/or academic progress, report cards, nightly events, etc...is shared via the school's newsletter, monthly SAC meetings, Team Up parent meetings/events and the use of the children's daily agenda. Team Up along with the school, will conduct nightly events at least once a month to promote increased parental support. Parents are always notified at least two weeks to a month in advance of the activity via marquee, flyers, and the school newsletter. The events are also placed on "school messenger" to reach parents by telephone to alert them of an upcoming event. Furthermore, a report is sent to the school to inform them of homes with disconnected or recently changed numbers. The events are also placed on our school's website, and Team Up creates flyers to send home to parents.



District Curriculum Guide Assessments in (math, reading, science), Diagnostic Assessments in Reading (DAR), and formal/informal classroom assessments are reviewed and discussed with parents in informal/formal parent conferences. Monthly PTA and SAC meetings are open forums for parents to attend, allowing them opportunities to share suggestions and participate in decisions that affect the overall instructional program at Reynolds Lane. The first SAC meeting will be held September 25, 2014, and all other meetings will be held on the last Thursday of the month.

We take pride in having an open door policy for parents to become active stakeholders in their children's education and within the Title I program.

Information at most meetings are in handout or PowerPoint presentation form. Once a disabled parent is identified, they are provided appropriate accessibility to fully participate in meetings as well as school activities, when possible.
