Describe how the school will involve parents in an organized, ongoing, and timely manner, in the planning, review, and improvement of Title I programs including involvement in the decisions regarding how funds for parental involvement will be used [Sections1118(c)(3), 1114(b)(2), and 1118(a)(2)(B)].
Response: Every year families are given the opportunity to run for our School Advisory Council. Those who are self nominated are placed on a ballot and all families are given the opportunity to vote for their representatives. There are eight SAC meetings a year and all members of SAC receive the dates at the beginning of the year, as well as an agenda a week before each meeting so they will remember to attend. They plan the School Improvement Plan, review it monthly and decide how to spend any funds designated for SAC. Parent Involvement is always spotlighted at the meetings. Parents and other family members are vitally important to the success of our school and training is always held on collaborative partnering with the staff, families and business partners. All members have an equal voice. Evidence of this is reflected in the minutes.

The School Improvement Plan is developed each year by studying the data from the previous year, listening to ideas of all stakeholders, looking for ways to help the students achieve success and presenting the plan to the families, staff and SAC for their approval. Everyone has a voice in the plan and ideas are always considered.

Parent involvement events are cosponsored by the SAC and SAC members are always there helping facilitate the events so all parents feel supported. When there are funds available, SAC helps fund the events.

10/15/2014 3:55:55 PM Just making sure...Kenly provides transportation? Also, you may wish to add a statement regarding how times for meetings/events was determined to best meet parents' needs. Many schools do a survey to find out when parents prefer to have meetings. The results of the survey are used to determine meeting/event days/time. I hope this helps!
