I, Ashley McCool , do hereby certify that all facts, figures, and representations made in this application are true, correct, and consistent with the statement of assurances for these waivers. Furthermore, all applicable statutes, regulations, and procedures; administrative and programmatic requirements; and procedures for fiscal control and maintenance of records will be implemented to ensure proper accountability for the expenditure of funds on this project.   • Involve the parents of children served in Title I, Part A in decisions about how Title I, Part A funds reserved for parental involvement are spent [Section 1118(b)(1) and (c)(3)];
  • Jointly develop/revise with parents the school parental involvement policy and distribute it to parents of participating children and make available the parental involvement plan to the local community [Section 1118 (b)(1)];
  • Involve parents, in an organized, ongoing, and timely way, in the planning, review, and improvement of programs under this part, including the planning, review, and improvement of the school parental involvement policy and the joint development of the schoolwide program plan under section 1114(b)(2) [Section 1118(c)(3)];
  • Use the findings of the parental involvement policy review to design strategies for more effective parental involvement, and to revise, if necessary, the school’s parental involvement policy [Section 1118(a)(E)];
  • If the plan for Title I, Part A, developed under Section 1112, is not satisfactory to the parents of participating children, the school will submit parent comments with the plan when the school submits the plan to the local educational agency [Section 1118(b)(4)];
  • Provide to each parent an individual student report about the performance of their child on the state assessment in at least mathematics, language arts, and reading [Section 1111(h)(6)(B)(i)];
  • Provide each parent timely notice when their child has been assigned or has been taught for four (4) or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not highly qualified within the meaning of the term in 34 CFR Section 200.56 [Section 1111(h)(6)(B)(ii)]; and
  • Provide each parent timely notice information regarding their right to request information on the professional qualifications of the student's classroom teachers and paraprofessionals [Section (h)(6)(A)].

Response: Monthly meetings with parents are planned to involve them in an organized, ongoing, and timely manner in the planning, review and improvement of our school academic and Title 1 programs including involvement in the decision regarding how funds for parental involvement will be used. Meetings will be documented through agenda, minutes, and sign-in sheets. The school will also provide support for parental involvement activities (e.g., parent nights, Meet and Greet gatherings) as needed and requested by the parent organization to include, but not to be limited to: early identification of the parents and guardians who will be responsible for the planning, review and improvement of our Title 1 activities; selecting of the group members will assist with parent involvement activities; including the review SAC and PTO agendas for the beginning of the school year.

Math Night/Literacy Night PreK - 5

Math coach and literacy coach will coordinate and orchestrate multiple evening programs to share information as to how parents can assist their children especially in meeting the new Florida Standards. Events will be paid for out of Federal funds (parent involvement).

Moseley Elementary School will continue to add to its Parent Resource Center to provide information to parents as to how best to assist their children and link parents to the District Parent Resource Center. (Paid for out of Federal funds)

Kindergarten Round Up

Kindergarten teachers and Principal will invite prospective parents of rising kindergarteners to the school to be given an overview of its curriculum, to be given information on Title I and how to help their children make the transition to regular school; health information; and a tour of the school. Appropriate Title 1, Part C staff will be invited to share information. Local preschool providers in the community (e.g., Head Start) will be invited to participate in the forum.

Fall Open House

Moseley families will be invited for the evening to visit the school and classrooms and learn ways to be involved in their child's education. The MES vision and mission statement will be shared.

Title X

Homeless liaison for the school will support homeless and displaced families with young children as they strive to keep their children in school and learning at good rates. Regular meetings will be scheduled with the Title X coordinator to review the program for participating children.

Flexible Parent Meetings



Describe how the school will offer a flexible number of meetings, such as meetings in the morning or evening, and may provide with Title I funds, transportation, child care, or home visits, as such services related to parental involvement [Section 1118(c)(2)].

Response: Teachers and administration are encouraged to be flexible in meeting with parents/guardians, making sure meetings can be held in the mornings as well as in the afternoons after regular work hours. Child care is often provided for the siblings of younger children when an afternoon or evening event is scheduled. Parents and children are sometimes fed during these events as well, paid for by Title 1 funds. Some teachers and guidance counselors also conduct home visits during the summer as a way to meet parents and explain their instructional and curricular program.

Response: Parents are regularly apprised of their children's academic and behavioral status via daily planners being sent home and through the use of Parent Portal. Response: Parents are regularly communicated with at Moseley:

(1)They are sent home regular parent letters outlining rules and procedures at the school as well as a copy of the PCSD Code of Conduct.

(2)They are sent monthly newsletters giving them information about Title 1 programs, explanations of the school's curriculum, forms of academic assessments used to measure student progress, and upcoming events in which to participate.

(3) Regular meetings are scheduled with parents to formulate suggestions for assisting their children academically and behaviorally.

(4) The principal's door is always open in order to discuss any issues of concern with parents and guardians.

(5) Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in the district's Parental Portal to keep informed of their student's academic progress.

(6) Parents/guardians are asked to be partners in helping students achieve their goals by providing at least 30 minutes each day at home for sustained silent reading.

(7) Parents/guardians are invited to submit comments regarding the schoolwide plan that will be made available to the local education agency.

(8) MES school website is maintained weekly and updated with news/events to keep families informed.

(1) All parents will be informed of activities in which they may participate through a variety of mediums: letters home, flyers, phone calls, and emails. Newletters and other communications are translated into other languages when necessary to increase lines of communication.

(2) We employee a spanish speaking paraprofessional who is able to meet with parents, teachers, and administration when there is a language barrier in discussing problems or concerns.

(3) Migrant advocates are available as needed through Federal Programs.

(4) All areas of the school are handicapped accessibly to allow for easy access to parent activities for parents with disabililties.
