Barrier (Including the Specific Subgroup)

Steps the School will Take to Overcome

1

Many of our parents are limited English speakers with a limited education and resources. They need additional help in understanding the education system in the U.S. They need to feel that they are an important part of their child’s educational experience.

Have specific meetings conducted purely in Spanish ( their native language ) Meetings need to be small so that they don’t feel overwhelmed with a large crowd. Provide simple game that they can make and take home to help their children. Continue to make an effort to have 100% attendance at Goal Setting Conferences and make them when it is most convenient to them.
